USFA LODD – West Virginia Fire Chief Fatality Notification 04.02.2014












Fire Chief George Underwood, 64, on April 2, 2014 at 1800hrs, responded to a call of localized flooding that was affecting residential properties in the community. While attempting to clear a blocked culvert with a hose line, Chief Underwood fell ill and collapsed at the scene from an apparent heart attack. Chief George Underwood was treated by responders and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
  
Our condolences to the Underwood Family & Friends, the Lake Volunteer Fire Department and to all affected by Fire Chief George Underwood's passing.
