On March 16, 2014 at 1450hrs, while operating in the basement of a burning multiple unit residential structure, Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh, 43, and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, 33, died from injuries sustained when they became trapped by fire conditions. Investigation into the fatal incident, which also injured many other firefighters and several police officers, continues by local authorities.
Our condolences to the Walsh Family, the Kennedy Family, Friends, the Boston Fire Department, and to all affected by the passing of Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy.
