Arkansas Pilot LODD: On-Duty Death 01.31.2014

Following almost two weeks of searching for a missing single-engine Cessna 210 Centurion, Civil Air Patrol located the crash site and a National Guard helicopter crew confirmed that Pilot Jake Harrell, 34, was deceased and likely killed upon impact. Jake Harrell, an experienced pilot, went missing while flying a regularly scheduled fire detection flight throughout west Arkansas. Investigation into the fatal incident continues by local, state, and federal (NTSB) authorities.

Our condolences to the Harrell Family & Friends, the Arkansas Forestry Commission, and all affected by Firefighter Dwight Hilton's passing.
