USFA: West Union Illinois Line Of Duty Death 04.13.2013















Firefighter Lawrence “Lance” A. Stone, 37, on April 13, 2013, at 2012hrs,was operating his privately owned vehicle en route to a fire call when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Firefighter Stone was ejected from the vehicle and passed away at the scene of the accident which is still under investigation by authorities.

“We’re all devastated by it,” said Fire Chief Bill Crumrin of the West Union Volunteer Fire Department. 

"He was very willing to help out. It takes a lot of dedication to do this," said also Fire Chief Bill Crumin.

 Lawrence A. Stone is survived and leaves behind a wife and five young children between the ages of 4 and 13.
