Binghamton New York Firefighter Line Of Duty Death 04.06.2013

On April 4, 2012 at 0023hrs, after having responded to an automatic  false smoke detector alarm, fire alarm on the 5th floor of an occupied multiple dwelling earlier in the morning, Firefighter John M. Janos,  a 24 year veteran of the Binghamton Fire Department was found deceased in bed at the Binghamton firehouse at 39 West State St. on Saturday morning.

The preliminary cause of death of John Janos has been determined, with  Dr. John Prindle says the cause of death was cardiac. Dr. Prindle says this is preliminary as it will take several weeks for a complete report. 

Binghamton Assistant Fire Chief Richard Allen stated the Firefighter Janos will be greatly missed and was a person on which he could always count. 

John M. Janos leaves behind a wife and three children.
