USFA LODD: Two Mississippi Firefighters On-Duty Death Notification 03.15.2017

On March 15, 2017 at 1800hrs, Deputy Chief Clinton Alvin Beasley, 80, and Firefighter Loretta Ann Sykes, 53, were directing traffic at the scene where a dump truck got tangled in power lines at Mississippi 589 and Oloh Road (Lamar County, MS) when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver. Both Deputy Chief Beasley and Firefighter Sykes passed away at the scene from injuries sustained when hit. The driver of the vehicle was later apprehended by Lamar County law enforcement.
  
Our condolences to the Beasley Family & Sykes Family, Friends, Sumrall Volunteer Fire Department, and to all affected by Deputy Chief Clinton Alvin Beasley’s and Firefighter Loretta Ann Sykes' passing.
