USFA LODD: Maryland Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 02.25.2018

On February 25, 2018 after returning home from an early morning response for a motor vehicle crash, Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Pryor, 46, complained to his wife that he was not feeling well. According to reports from FirefighterCloseCalls.com, Assistant Fire Chief Pryor's wife then took him to the emergency room where, upon arrival, he collapsed. Despite all efforts to revive him, Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Pryor passed away from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be reported.

Our condolences to the Pryor Family & Friends, LaVale Volunteer Fire Department, and to all affected by Assistant Fire Chief Christopher Pryor's passing.

To date, 09 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018. Year-to-date monthly and annual USFA firefighter fatality reports are posted online at U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) Fatality Notices page.
