USFA LODD – Colorado Firefighter Fatalities Notification 07.09.2014












Firefighter Richard L. Marchman, 46, on July 9, 2014 at 1200hrs, collapsed and died from an apparent heart attack in the Brainard Lake Recreational Area while hiking back out to the Blue Lake/Mitchell Lake Trailhead parking lot after he and fellow responders helped rescue an injured hiker and move her to a suitable location for transport by a Flight for Life helicopter to the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Our condolences to the Marchman Family & Friends, the Indian Peaks Fire Protection District, and to all affected by Firefighter Richard L. Marchman's passing.
