On June 5, 2014, Assistant Fire Chief Donovan Gacia Jr., 52, was participating in wildland fire training when he collapsed from an apparent heart attack. Donovan Gacia Jr. as treated at the scene and trasported to the Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Our condolences to the Garcia Family & Friends, the Hungry Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and to all affected by Assistant Fire Chief Donovan Gacia Jr.'s passing.
