On November 18, 2014 at 1951hrs, Firefighter James Foote, 57, upon returning inside of the station to get warm after cutting down two trees on the fire department grounds, Firefighter James Foote fell ill and collapsed. Medical assistance was provided by fellow responders and James Foote was transported to Cobleskill Hospital where he later passed away of a heart attack.
