Air Canada Boeing 777-300 Fire Damaged at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Montreal Airport

 







A vehicle caught fire while it was underneath an airplane, Air Canada Boeing 777-300, at around 3:25 p.m. Sunday afternoon July 9, 2023. There were no reported injuries, according to authorities, who said the fire was under control in under half an hour.

Several Firefighter Crews Respond To Mobile Home Trailer Fire In Town of Main, New York

 The Monday, May 8, 2023, 3PM afternoon fire found shortly after arrival firefighters combating, knocked down, and controling the fire scene.

Fire crews from Glenn Aubrey Fire Department, Maine Fire Department, Union Center Fire Department, Endicott Fire Department and West Corners Fire Department responded to a reported trailer fire, located at 3088 Route 26 in Mann’s Mobile Home Park.




Assistant Fire Chief for Maine Fire Department, Luke Brady, stated the fire started and remained confined to the kitchen area of the moble home. It was also reported no one was home when fire broke out.

There were no injuries involved in the fire, with the cause of fire is under investigation.

Elmira Fire Department Respond To A House Fire In Elmira, New York

 


The Elmira Fire Dept. responded to an early morning house fire at the 400 block of West 5th Street in Elmira, Thursday, May 4, 2023. The house was split into two separate apartments and at least two people were home at the time the fire broke out.   

Fire Department Officials stated the structure suffered significant damage both inside and outside. Heavy damage to the house was sustained to the second floor and attic of the home, and is considered uninhabitable.

At this fire incident one person was transported to the local hospital in unknown condition.

Cause of the fire is under investigation and it will be announced later time according Elmira Fire Chief Andrew Mallow.

Johnson City Fire Department Responds To A Garage Fire in Westover New York

 


The Johnson City Fire Dept. & Emergency crews responded to a reported garage fire in the Town of Union Westover area Thursday afternoon, May 4, 2023. The garage fire was located at 25 Avon St. in the Westover area.

Johnson City Fire Marshal Bob Blakeslee stated there were no injuries reported in this fire, and that the cause of the fire was a propane stove being used inside the garage. Heavy black smoke could be seen billowing into the air from the garage fire, with neighbors stating at the scene that they heard a loud booming noise before seeing the fire.


It's was stated also that when the owner stepped away from the stove for a few minutes, with it being noted that the type of stove should’ve been used outdoors. Also responding the this fire incident were the the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and Union Ambulance.

The garage was completely destroyed. The house nearby suffered minimal damage, along with no injuries being reported for this fire incident.

Firefighting Crews Repond To Late Night Structral Fire In Waverly New York

 









Firefighting crews responded to reports of an overnight fire causing heavy damage to a building in a structure fire in the Village of Waverly, Tioga County NY.

Waverly Fire Chief Don Howard stated the fire broke out at 458 Pennsylvania Ave., in the Town of Waverly around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.

At the fire scene, no visible flames were seen but heavy smoke filled the area as it came out of the top of the building. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the back of the building, and Fire Chie Howard said it was largely contained to one room on the third floor.


Firefighting crews from Waverly, Barton, Sayre and Athens Borough utilized ladder trucks to get to the top of the 3rd story structure to get inside and stop fire from spreading. Fire crews perfomed ventalating that enable to calm the smoke down by breaking the windows.

No injuries have been reported and all occupants evacuated without incident. The Tioga County NY fire investigators responded and were on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

18-year old man from Endicott charged with violation in death of three pedestrians in Newark Valley

 

Owego, NY) – On March 28, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year old Dominic V. Fontana, of Endicott, NY, for the traffic violation of Moving From Lane Unsafely following the investigation of a car vs. pedestrian crash on State Route 38, in the Town of Newark Valley, on February 15, 2023.

Fontana is accused of leaving the southbound lane of travel in an unsafe manner and striking four pedestrians who were walking along the shoulder of the roadway. Three of the four pedestrians, 66-year old John Stephens, 25-year old Kurtis Acker and 52-year old Doreen Wood, all from Newark Valley, died as a result of the collision. Another pedestrian, a 27-year old female, also from Newark Valley, was flown from the scene by LifeNet Air to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, and has since been released from the Hospital.

The investigation into this motor vehicle crash included a search warrant for the vehicle involved and the electronics within, as well as a subpoena for cell phone records. Video from several commercial vehicles’ on-board cameras, doorbell cameras along with business and residential security cameras were also reviewed.

The Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert was called to administer drug and alcohol sobriety testing on Fontana. Following the investigation there was nothing found that would support criminal charges related to the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by New York State Police uniformed troopers, New York State Police CRU (Collision Reconstruction Unit) and UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) unit, Tioga County Emergency Services, Newark Valley Fire Department, Berkshire Fire District NY, Maine Emergency Squad, Inc., Owego Emergency Squad, LifeNet of New York, the Tioga County District Attorney’s Office, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
