BARTON, N.Y. (WBNG):

Stronghaven Farms in Barton, New York at around 5:15 p.m. an explosion was heard from farm structure engulfed in flames.

“I heard an explosion yesterday when I was in the house, and I stepped out the back door, and the shed was on fire on one end. And by the time I got to it, it was fully engulfed. Couldn’t get in to get any of the equipment out. So, we lost all of our harvesting equipment, planting equipment, tractors. So, it’s a lot of rebuilding to get back,” said Craig Strong, one of the co-owners of Stronghaven Farms.

“There was like, what, six crews or so that were here. They did an awesome job of getting the fire out and working with us to get it put out. The community has stepped up. The local farmers have all... We have several of them here helping us today with field work,” Strong said.

“I think its setbacks are going to be huge because we lost millions of dollars’ worth of equipment. So, it’s a matter of getting it replaced timely enough to be able to get our harvest in,” Strong said.
