USFA LODD: Nebraska Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 02.23.2020


On the morning of Sunday, February 23, 2020, after returning home from a grass fire, Firefighter/EMT Donald “Donny” Lepper, 46, collapsed.  He was immediately taken to the Community Hospital of McCook, where he was pronounced deceased.

Our condolences to the Lepper Family & Friends, Indianola Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, and to all affected by  Firefighter/EMT Donald “Donny” Lepper's passing.

USFA LODD: California Firefighter, Firefighter Jones, On-Duty Death Notification 02.18.2020

On Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2020, at approximately 1614hrs., firefighters from the Porterville Fire Department, as well as the counties of King, Fresno, and Tulare, responded to a fire at the Porterville Public Library. Captain Ramon “Ray” Figueroa, 35, and Firefighter Patrick Jones, 25, perished in the blaze.  Two teen boys have been arrested on suspicion of starting the fire. Investigation into the incident continues.

Our condolences to the Jones Family & Friends, Porterville Fire Department, and to all affected by  Firefighter Patrick Jones's passing.

USFA LODD: Texas Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 02.12.2020

On Wednesday evening, February 12, 2020, Fire Chief Manuel Galindo, Jr., 71, was driving a fire apparatus on East Highway 20 in Hudspeth County when he suddenly veered off the road.  He attempted to get the vehicle back on the highway but over corrected. The apparatus flipped over and Fire Chief Manuel Galindo, Jr., was ejected.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Investigation into the accident continues.

USFA LODD: North Carolina Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 01.31.2020

On Friday, January 31, 2020, Firefighter Corbin Rogers, 21, was returning home from a 48-hour shift and aerial training class at the Spring Lake Fire Department when he was involved in a vehicle accident.  Firefighter Corbin Rogers passed away at the scene.
