Firefighters in Kingston New York battled a three-alarm fire Sunday morning.
Kingston Deputy Fire Chief Donald Allen on Sunday evening said the department responded immediately to the 11:46 a.m. call at 12 Linderman Ave., but, “The wind was the big thing. It gave the fire a huge start.”
The heaviest flames were in the rear of this building.
Firefighters attempted to fight it from inside, but were forced outside once conditions worsened.
"Upon arrival, the first units found heavy fire involved in the rear of the building. We made an interior attack, but my people were driven off the second floor by heavy heat and heavy fire. At that point we went to an exterior attack,” said City of Kingston Fire Chief, John Reinhardt.
Everyone made it out of the house safely. No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
