Baltimore City Four-Alarm Fire 08.26.2012
A four-alarm fire at a carryout restaurant in the Baltimore City's Irvington neighborhood Sunday night. A fire that injured four people, including a city firefighter, according to a Baltimore Fire Department spokesman.
Firefighters first responded to the Chicken & Trout carryout in the 4000 block of Frederick Avenue about 7:45 p.m. to find heavy smoke in the three-story building's first and second floors and an active fire, said Baltimore City Fire spokesperson Kevin Cartwright and also stated the fire response brought nearly 100 firefighters to the scene.
Three people in the building were rescued and taken to area hospitals. Cartwright said their injuries were considered non-life-threatening
Fire officials say the fire has spread to an adjacent church that is unoccupied.
No official cause has been determined at this time.
