USFA LODD: Vermont Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 02.28.2018

On February 27, at 1526hrs, Lieutenant Casey Stephen Kuhns responded to a motor vehicle crash.  Later that day, Lieutenant Kuhns participated in fire department training that ended at approximately 2130hrs.  At 0600hrs on February 28, Lieutenant Kuhns was found deceased at home from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be reported.

Our condolences to the Kuhns Family & Friends, Morrisville Fire Department, and to all affected by Lieutenant Casey Stephen Kuhns’ passing.    

To date, 10 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018. Year-to-date monthly and annual USFA firefighter fatality reports are posted online at U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) Fatality Notices page.

USFA LODD: Vermont Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 05.05.2016

Firefighter Steven Lapierre, 58, on May 5, 2016 succumbed to his injury after suffering a heart attack while operating at the scene of a brush fire on April 27th, 2016.
      
Our condolences to the Lapierre Family & Friends, Georgia Volunteer Fire Department, and to all affected by Firefighter Steven Lapierre’s passing. 
    
To date, 24 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2016. Year-to-date monthly and annual USFA firefighter fatality reports are posted online at U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) Fatality Notices page.
