Structural Fire; Town of Main, New York 11.06.14
BROOM COUNTY, N.Y.
The East Maine Fire Department was dispatched to 298 Flint Rd. in the Town of Maine just after 10 a.m. Thursday morning .
Smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the building when crews arrived. A second-alarm was called for the building fire in the town of Maine. Endwell Fire Department’s was requested for their FAST team to the fire scene.
The Broome County Sheriff's Office informed that the fire started on the upstairs floor of the split-level house.
There were no one was injured in the blaze and the fire was in a crawl space between two bathrooms and located in the attic of the two family home.
East Maine, Endwell, Maine and Union Center Fire Departments responded and were on scene at the fireground for fire-fighting operations.
"We have fire damage in one area of the second floor in the attic, smoke damage on the second floor. There's water damage from both plumbing and fire fighting operations in the area of the bathrooms," says Brett Chellis, Broome County Fire Coordinator.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Broome County fire investigators.

Binghamton House Fire 11.02.14
BROOM COUNTY, N.Y.
The Binghamton Fire Department responded to the fire call Sunday evening around 6:45 p.m.

The fire destroyed both the kitchen and attic of a home. There was heavy fire and flames in the second floor kitchen with the fire extending to the attic above kitchen.
Binghamton Fire Department firefighter had the fire extinguish within 45 minutes.
"They can probably replace and rebuild the kitchen there, and then reoccupy the building," said Binghamton Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Steve Faughnan. "The fire was completely confined to that area of the building, both the attic and the kitchen. The rest of the second floor and the first floor just have water and smoke damage at this point."
All occupants were in the home at the time but were able to make it out without any injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Chimney Fire 500 Shady Dr. Town of Union 11.02.14
BROOM COUNTY, N.Y.
A possible chimney fire in the town of Union Sunday evening was called in for the Endwell Fire Department for it's fire crews to respond at 5:30 p.m.

Vestal, West Corners and Union Center fire departments were requested & toned out to repondas a second alarm was sounded for heavy smoke at the fireground.
Fire was burning in the first floor inside the chimney, and began to extend into the second floor bedroom. Fire crews extinguished the fire in 20 minutes.
Home owners were home at the time and Fire Chief Winchell said they were active in suppressing the fire.
"The people had just bought the house within the past year or two and we really haven't gotten into the investigation to see if it was a faulty install or a maintenance problem," said Fire Chief of the Endwell Fire Department Jeff Winchell. "We're really not sure yet."
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and is under investigation.
