USFA LODD: New York Firefighter On-Duty Death Notification 07.14.2018

On June 14, 2018 while driving to an EMS training class, Firefighter Zachary J. Fazekas, 19, was involved in a single vehicle accident and ejected from his motorcycle. Firefighter Fazekas was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident.  

Our condolences to the Fazekas Family & Friends, New Hyde Park Fire Department, and to all affected by Firefighter Zachary J. Fazekas’ passing. 

To date, 54 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018. Year-to-date monthly and annual USFA firefighter fatality reports are posted online at U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) Fatality Notices page.
