On May 6, 2015, approximately one hour after returning to quarters from a carbon monoxide response call, Fire Captain Dwight Greer, 44, suffered a cardiac related medical emergency at the station while participating in fire department mandated physical training. Captain Greer was treated by fellow responders and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Fire Captain Dwight Greer is survived by six siblings, Barbara Love and Latonya Greer, both of Tampa, Fla., Jacqueline Greer of Charlotte, N.C., Willis Greer,Jr. and Kellis Greer, both of Philadelphia, and Jennifer Rhodes of Atlanta, Ga.;
