Colorado Fire Chief & Connecticut Fire Lieutenant Official On-Duty Deaths
Fire Chief Don Felton, 71, of the Southern Park County Fire Protection District on October 27, 2012, at 1115hrs died of an apparent heart attack while at work in his fire department office.
Chief Felton had served as chief of the department since April 1 of this year.
Chief Felton is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara, and their three daughters.

Fire Lieutenant Russell Neary, 55, of the Easton Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 on October 29, 2012, at 1945hrs, responded with his fire company to a structure fire alarm. While returning to the station, firefighters were removing part of a tree blown into the roadway by Hurricane Sandy when several other trees suddenly fell striking and killing Lieutenant Neary.
His was the first death on the Easton force. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, and two daughters.
