USFA LODD – California Pilot Fatalities Notification 10.07.2014

On October 7, 2014 at 630hrs., Geoffrey "Craig" Hunt, 62, who was the pilot of a CAL FIRE S-21 air tanker was killed when his aircraft crashed while operating on the Dog Rock Fire near Arch Rock entrance of Yosemite National Park. There were no other occupants in the aircraft and no injuries were reported among fire crews on the ground near where the aircraft came down. Investigation into the fatal incident by state and federal authorities.

USFA LODD – Connecticut Firefighter Fatalities Notification 10.07.2014

On October 7, 2014 at 1830hrs., Firefighter Keven Bell, 48, died from his injuries sustained while operating at a residental structral fire. Several other firefighters were injuried in the incident, transported to the hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries. Investigation into the fatal fire continues by local and state and local authorites. 

   

Our condolences to the Bell Family & Friends, the Hartford Fire Department, and to all affected by Firefighter Kevin Bell's passing.

MAYDAY! FIREFIGHTER DOWN ~ Gary Rynman

Gary Ryman's newest & latest book Mayday! Firefighter Down was released by Hellgate Press  September 2014.

I do know Gary Ryman over several years now and he is an acquaintance of mine that I have the pleasure in saying I'm glad to have made within the Fire Protection Field of sorts. Having read Gary's first book Fire Men: Stories from Three Generations of a Firefighting Family

USFA LODD – Arkansas Assistant Fire Chief Fatalities Notification 10.01.2014

On October 1, 2014 at 1430hrs., Assistant Fire Chief J.B. Hutton, Jr., 73, while working along Highway 165 South near Pine Tree Boat Landing on Lake Wallace, Assistant Fire Chief  Hutton fell ill and passed away from a nature and cause of injury still to be reported.  
   

Our condolences to the Hutton Family & Friends, the Dermott Volunteer Fire Department, and to all affected by Assistant Fire Chief J.B. Hutton, Jr.'s passing.
