WEST ODESSA Texas (NewsWest 9) – A propane tank explosion in West Odessa scared some residents on Wednesday night.
The explosion happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of West 10th Street.
Fire officials tell NewsWest 9, a small fire started and a propane tank exploded near a shack or shed.
The homeowner did try to put out the small fire before the tank exploded.
No injuries or damage was reported.
A fire chief with Odessa Fire/Rescue tells NewsWest 9, the explosion sent flames 150 feet in the air.
The actual cause of the small fire is unknown.
Fire officials want to remind people to not store propane tanks inside buildings.
